In the evening there are no spaces, and the dancer arrives with a costume bag and sometimes a speaker. The solution we work with: send us in a message where one can stop for two minutes to unload, and if there is a car park nearby, its exact address. Stairs — many buildings here are eighty years old with no lift, and a third floor with equipment is a ten-minute difference. Say so in advance; it does not change the price, it changes the timing. The entrance — in half the lofts the door sits in a commercial frontage, and we arrive in ordinary clothes like any other guest: entirely natural on a street where people come and go all night.

The types of space in the neighbourhood

The classic loft — one large volume, a high ceiling, industrial windows: the perfect stage, especially for styles that need space. The rooftop — Florentin is full of roofs with a view of the city; in summer it is our first choice, but check the wind: fabric and veils behave differently up high. The old flat — two rooms, original tiled floors, a kitchen in the middle; small but excellent for intimate evenings of up to ten people. The workshop studio — a working space converted for events: impressive and beautiful, but check that the power is stable and where exactly one can change.

Timing an evening in Florentin

The neighbourhood wakes late, so the timing here differs from the rest of Tel Aviv. 21:00–22:00 — too early: the crew is still at the bar. 22:30–23:30 — the golden point: everyone has arrived, eaten, and the atmosphere peaks. 00:30–01:30 — very popular here, and with us it carries no surcharge: the same price list at any hour. What to do when the space is not perfect

Most lofts here were not built for events, and that is fine: almost any room can be arranged in five minutes. Seasons in Florentin

This neighbourhood has two clear seasons. Summer — the roofs open, and half our bookings move upstairs: sky, city lights, air. Worth knowing that in July and August the rooftops close early with us — high demand, so writing two days ahead pays. Winter — everything returns indoors, and the lofts reveal themselves at their best: low lighting, concrete walls, an atmosphere nothing replaces. What to prepare in advance

A short list that saves a quarter of an hour on the night: a stable chair without armrests; two metres by two of clear floor; two lamps instead of the ceiling light; a small place to change — a room, a kitchen, even an enclosed balcony; and one person responsible for opening the door. If there are many stairs, it is nice though not required for someone to come down and help with the bag. And of course: tell the guest of honour as little as possible. From our base to Florentin is twenty to thirty minutes at most evening hours — faster than any other neighbourhood in the city. The dancer arrives in an ordinary private car, in everyday clothes, with a single bag; nobody on the street looks twice, which is the advantage of an area that lives at night. If parking is difficult, we arrange a short stop for unloading and immediate parking elsewhere — all you need to do is tell us where. After the show the exit is quiet, with no ceremonies, and without the crew escorting her down the stairs.
