I am Yasmin. Long black wavy hair, dark brown eyes, olive skin, full lips and a beauty mark above my upper lip. My presence is my working instrument, and I have learned to use it without vulgarity. My territory is classic burlesque with a metre-and-a-half feather boa. I know how to work with a boa so that it becomes part of the body. My signature look — champagne bunny: black corset bodysuit, ears, white pompom tail, champagne in hand. Perfect for premium privates and yacht parties.
My stage: a boa, and that is enough
Classic burlesque is a genre of one instrument done right, and mine is a metre-and-a-half feather boa. In untrained hands it is just a strip of feathers; with me it extends every movement, hides exactly as much as it should, and returns the gaze to wherever I choose. Boa work takes years and cannot be faked — feathers betray every hesitation. My style is premium and clean: no gimmicks, no surplus props, only presence, tempo, and a boa that knows what it is doing.
What a show with me looks like
Elegance warming slowly: an entrance in a long gown with the boa across my shoulders, a first set that is all tempo and gazes — no rush, no announcement, just the room slowly agreeing to watch — a centrepiece where the boa moves from shoulders to hands and becomes a full partner, and a finale that leaves the room in a second of silence before the applause. I work at measured closeness: near enough to be felt, far enough to remain a performance. The full skeleton of the hour — on the solo page; with me it is dressed in black and feathers.
How I differ from Dina
We are both burlesque and we get asked — so let us sharpen it: Dina is vintage — fifties cabaret, the fan, the chair routine, a retro filter over the whole evening; I am classic in the present tense — a boa, an evening gown, contemporary premium aesthetics without nostalgia. She takes you to another era; I stay in this one, only in its beautiful edition. Two approaches to one genre, both of them working — simply for entirely different evenings.
My characters
The champagne bunny — the crown character: a black corset bodysuit, ears, a pompom tail and a glass in hand; a visual classic I serve with a smile rather than a crude wink. The retro vamp — black, red, a gaze that runs the room: the character best suited to premium evenings. The lady of the boa — the pure format: a gown, feathers, and a single light. The full wardrobe — on the costume page; with me every character passes first through the question "is this elegant".
Where I am strongest
Premium evenings: hotel suites, penthouses, yachts and large houses — places where a metre-and-a-half boa gets the space it deserves. Geographically I work often in the hotels of Tel Aviv and the views of Netanya, where an evening on a balcony with the sea behind is exactly the backdrop my genre asks for. My crowd: thirty-five-plus birthdays, elegant company evenings, bachelor parties that want class instead of noise.
One moment from the field
A penthouse in Netanya, a fortieth birthday, twelve guests and a balcony facing the sea. I opened on the balcony itself — a light wind, a sunset, and the boa flying exactly as I wanted; after two minutes every guest was standing rather than sitting. Midway the birthday man whispered something to his wife and she laughed; afterwards she told me what — he had said "this looks like a film". That is the sentence I work for, and precisely why I choose places with a view.
How I prepare
The boa gets treatment before every show: shaking out, gentle combing, and a check that no feather sits loose — a feather falling mid-piece is a distraction I refuse to accept. The hair takes forty minutes of waving, and the make-up is classic: a soft eye, strong lips. I always arrive with two gowns — a long one for the entrance and a short one for the second half — because changing silhouette midway does more for an evening than any effect. And at your place I look for the corner with the warmest light and start from there.
My playlist
Modern jazz, seductive soul, blues with a soul, and a little downtempo for the strong moments — music that sounds expensive and never shouts. The boa piece has a fixed track I have not changed in four years, because it is built exactly for its movements. And if the guest of honour loves a particular slow song — send it; I weave it into the opening, where it makes the greatest impression.
Who I am not the right choice for
Parties with high tempo, drops and a jumping crowd — I would lose my genre there, and the catalogue holds someone who will blow your room apart exactly as you wanted. Very domestic, chamber evenings too — someone does them better than me, and I will happily point you her way. I am the pick when the word "premium" is meant seriously: a view, the right light, a crowd that appreciates elegance — and then I give exactly what that evening asked for.
Five small facts about me
I own three boas: black, white and red — and the red one comes out only on special evenings. I iron my gowns myself and let nobody else touch them; it is a ritual, not control. I learned boa work from old footage and hours of practice at the mirror, with no teacher — and I am especially proud of that. The beauty mark above my lip is real and I emphasise it deliberately. And my favourite smell before a show: feathers after a shake-out — strange, I know, and I have stopped apologising for it.
An evening with me — step by step
18:30 — boa treatment: shaking and combing. 19:30 — hair, forty minutes of waving. 21:00 — departure with two gowns in the bag. 21:45 — "I am here", a quiet entrance, a change. 22:00 — a long gown, the boa across my shoulders, and the room falls silent on its own. An hour of classics: tempo, gazes, the boa piece, a silhouette change and a quiet finale. 23:05 — a bow, and I leave with the feathers; what stays with you is exactly what the birthday man whispered to his wife.
